The purpose of this program is to provide school nurses with advanced education on assessing children who may require Public Benefits and community health services through the MA Department of Public Health. This program will discuss eligibility for key public benefits for children with special health care needs and how families and professionals can access services. The program will discuss the myriad of programs available to families including the Community Support Line, SSI and Public benefits, MASSTART, Family Initiatives, Care Coordination for children and youth with special health care needs and more. The school nurse is in an important position to be able to identify families and children in need. This is a recorded program that offers school nurses asynchronous recorded content to be viewed when convenient for them.
