This program is being offered to provide school nurses with advanced education on emergency response in the school setting. The opportunity for school nurses to learn emergency assessment, levels of emergency response that may need to be initiated, and stabilization of common emergency situations is of utmost importance to their role as health care providers in the school setting. This program will provide schools nurses with background knowledge on the correct sequence of priorities and principles in assessing the child in an emergency situation. This program will also differentiate between the two levels of emergency response including basic life support and advanced life support so school nurses will be able to determine which level is necessary based on the situation at hand.
