This program is being offered to school nurses to provide training on chronic pain in the school-aged child. The opportunity for school nurses to receive advanced training on chronic pain and how it may impact a student’s educational experience is of utmost importance to their role as health care providers in the school system. Chronic pain affects many school-aged children and can impact several areas of daily life including school, sleep, and physical activity. The program will discuss different pain classifications, pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment tools for chronic pain management, chronic pain syndromes that may be encountered in the school setting, and appropriate school accommodations and tools for students experiencing chronic pain. This is a recorded program that offers school nurses asynchronous recorded content to be viewed when convenient for them.
