Caring for the Student with Celiac Disease (2.0 Contact Hours)

​The purpose of this program is to provide nurses with advanced education on students with celiac disease, its common symptoms, the current treatment with a gluten free diet and the school nurses role in supporting a child with celiac disease in the school setting. In addition, the presentation will include federal laws and regulations that apply to children with celiac disease and how to help students access resources afforded under these laws. The program will also address the social and emotional impact that celiac disease may have on a student. This is a recorded program that offers school nurses asynchronous recorded content to be viewed when convenient for them.
